practice his words?

too many times i experienced the word of God (BIBLE) is the word of truth, His word is alive! His words reflects me on my daily life. and i feel really excited reading it.But too often i didn't practice what is being told.


Do we really need to apply the words into our modern society?
don't you think that the words inside the bible is too ancient to be apply into this fast changing community?. 30 years ago in financial market, people could buy a stock and hold it for 5 years, 10 years, or even 15 years and you could get 80% return on investment,or even more!!, but now this kind of method is a disaster. In the 21st century, market become more brutal, no more buy and hold for years. Because market is moving up and down in a random and unpredictable way.The old ancient method buy and hold cannot be applied today.

does this happen in the words of God? His words are old (thousand of years ago), but can we still use it today? YES!! God is timeless. I mean God is beyond the time. So does his words. And His words never change. Since the beginning of the creation of the world. When God said let there be light (gen1:3) poof! there is the light, thousand of years later we still experience the light.( the blessing of the sun).

Does His words boring? if you said the bible is boring then you are wrong. God tell us everything about this world, and he never miss it! from family, to church, leaders, business,money, politics, prophecy,
mother nature, relationship, sex, love, power, sin, you name it. And this most exciting and most important things is, his promises to his people.


Can we get motivate?
the bible is the world best selling book. when we try to understand His words we can summarize that the whole book is about love. God is promoting a great message -love, and He want His children( you and me ) to experience it. Millions of hearts had been changed by His simplicity yet powerful words. Love changes life.
Secondly, Jesus is the world most influence icon. Great leader, followed by billions (including those who are dead) -yet He is still promoting the same idea of Christianity faith that is love.. can you found out in those millions of copies of motivation books mentioning someone that is willing to die for human beings?
As far as i know, only one book tell me about that, The Holy Bible. He don't care black or white, yellow or brown, he is willing to die for you.

to conclude this, i would like to share with you this:

James 1:22-25

"But don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don't obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it."

Its not about just reading the bible, but to act it out. Because God promises to bless those who doing it.

why reading bible?

Why spending time reading the bible when you could use the time to worry bout your future? even 15 minutes a day reading is a great deal for some business people.They could have use it wisely to do some market analysis, tidy up portfolio, searching for some real estate, or even make some great deal with clients.

As for me, when i join the alpha course few months back, i started to discovered the importance of relationship with Him.Before i move on, i would like to share with you my old perspective regarding the bible.

For me, the bible is a dead book, a book that record hundreds or even thousands of history events. Bible (history) really bored me up and i could fall asleep when reading it.I did'nt make reading the bible as my habit.I don't bring bible to church because i think it's thick and heavy (actually i could have brought a small one but small bible means higher cost-so i give it up)and i found out that the message in the bible is really hard for me to understand.To summarize that, i spend 22 years of being a christian without reading and really understand the bible.

Ever since i join the alpha course, i started to love the bible.What i mean is to love it really really much.WHY?

- for many some christians, god speak to them to their ears, some to their heart, but for me God speak to me through the bible.He tells me everything about my life from

- before this, i only interested in motivation books, few to mention here- rich dad poor dad, retire young retire rich, the power of thinking without thinking, some investment books, and i got lift up by those motivation and "how to" books.But the excitement is nothing compare to reading the bible. its a spiritual nourishment. for jesus said, "My words are living water". thus, whoever drink the water shall never thirst again.For me, its true and i experience it if only when you really allow God to tell you what He wanted to tell you.

-the bible give me a more understanding who god really is. christian is about relationship with god, its not about religion, or a set of rules ( the do and dont) that is need to be followed.How the relationship works?
First you need to understand God.What He wants, what He thinks, why did He do this. But how can we do that? simple enough, the bible is the answer. from genesis to revelation..its all about God expressing his heart.

-All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives” (2 Timothy 3:16). It means the every word in the bible is from God. God did'nt write it, but He use his people (inspired by the holy spirit) to write it down.In v16 mention that, God words is use to keep us in the right path.For Jesus said, " I am the light " ...." I am the way"... if you don't want to get lost in the dark, follow Jesus, because He got the candle and He knows the path. So for me, it gives us principles to live by, guidance for our everyday decisions, and motivation to follow God’s ways.
